About Jian-wei Han

Jian-wei Han, also Jianwei Han, was born in Qingdao, Shandong province, China in 1980. He graduated from Shandong University of Technology in 2002, and obtained his Master Degree from East China University of Science and Technology in 2005. He then received his doctoral degree under the supervision of Professor Dieter Enders at Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule (RWTH) Aachen (Germany) in 2009. After two years postdoctoral research at Kyoto University (Japan) with Professor Keiji Maruoka, he moved to Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, the Chinese Academy of Sciences as an Associate Professor in 2011. From 2016, he was appointed as Associate Professor, then at 2023, he was promoted to Full-Professor at School of Chemistry & Molecular Engineering, East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST). He is a recipient of Thieme Chemistry Journals Award (2014), the Second Prize of Natural Science by the Ministry of Education (2019, China); His research interests are design and synthesis of new catalysts in asymmetric transformations, exploration of novel reactivity of organic molecules and the preparation of functional materials.
